In the midst of all of the Pokémon GO mania, NBA LIVE Mobile has snuck up to the top of the App Store and Google Play rankings in very short order. This latest iteration of EA Sports’ NBA franchise redoes the gameplay of the series for mobile purposes and brings the entire NBA roster, plus a number of throwback all-stars and hall-of-farmers into the fold, for those who have enough gold coins and NBA cash. Read on for some tips and tricks for NBA LIVE Mobile!

When you first begin the game, it can seem extremely difficult due to the learning curve and the incredible lack of probability of making shots, as well as the jump in difficulty between season matches. You’ll need to rack up coins for better players so head over to the Head to Head mode and find players whose overall team ratings are below or equal to yours. Use them for practice and to earn coins.

Out of all of your available lineups, pick the one with the stat boosts (and the overall score) that will match up best against the opposing team or simply that will fit your intended strategy. Shooting lineups add to your shooting and 3 pointer ability. 2-way adds to your passing and defense. Defense adds to your defense and speed. Big Man adds to your defense and shooting. Small Ball adds to your speed and dribbling.

The best use of a limited number of coins in the store is the beginner pack, which contains one silver card. Instead, take your money straight to the auction area. Start building up a lineup full of silver players, and if you want, flesh out your other lineups as well. Earn a whole lot more gold coins, then start searching for even higher-tier players.

Leagues are this game’s version of alliances, and teams in a league will earn points for their league, as well as rewards, depending on how often they win, so be sure to join an active league that participates often. It helps to join a league full of big spenders as bonuses are sent around any time that someone in the league buys NBA Cash (the premium currency of the game).
Completing achievements is one of the quickest ways to earn large amounts of gold coins. Hit the Achievements menu and use the tab at the top to scroll back and forth between all of the different categories (representing all of the different playing modes as well as different tiers of difficulty). There is a chance that some of them could earn you NBA Cash, though so far none have been proven to yet.

But now that everything works perfectly and you’re ready to turn your team into one made of superstars, it’s time to check out some NBA Live Mobile cheats: tips & tricks that will help you improve your game, get more coins, buy the best players and, most importantly, win all those matches, no matter if we’re talking about season games or head to head challenges.

Although this guide is mostly aimed at more beginner players, advanced ones or those struggling to make something out of the game might learn a trick or two, so go through this and check out Touch, Tap, Play’s NBA Live Mobile tips and tricks!

1. Complete the achievements
It might sound like the silliest thing to do, but check out the achievements in the game and do what it takes to complete them. There’s a ton of achievements available and the rewards you can get are pretty awesome: not only that they give you enough coins to be able to dip your toes in the transfer market and profit greatly, but you will also win card packs and valuable goodies otherwise.

2. Start building up your team
Early on, don’t even think about selling players, completing sets or whatever. Just pile up on the players as if you were the biggest hoarder in the NBA history. Always keep an eye on the market to grab good deals – players with an overall rating of 65 and maybe above can be purchased with as low as 200-500 coins, so make sure you get them first in order to strengthen your team. You will get better players as you play, but early on try to get the most for your money, and a 65-rated player for 200 is a great deal!

3. Go through the seasons
Play the seasons in order to complete the achievements and get huge rewards in terms of coins. Grinding on the seasons early on is the only thing you should focus on, maybe alternating with a versus game here and there. For most of the other things, your team will be too weak at first. Go through the seasons as fast as possible, complete them and get a ton of coins to use them later on to improve your team even more.

4. Learn the moves
There are multiple moves that you can pull in the game, like spin moves, fadeaways, behind the back and so on. I will have a guide on how to perform each of these moves shortly in case you can’t figure it out on your own – but if you do and once you do, start pulling those in order to get the advantage on the field and dominate your opponent.

5. How to make more coins
There are a lot of methods to make more money in NBA Live Mobile and most of the tips in this article help you get more (UPDATE: we’ve published a complete guide on how to make coins fast in NBA Live Mobile, make sure to check it out as well!), but the easiest way to make money is to use the Auctions.
Buy low and sell high is the easiest thing to do: once you have some money, simply snipe for cards that are greatly undervalued, purchase them with the buy it now price and then resell them at their regular value. Keep an eye on the market in order to know the prices and be very active and you can score the likes of Kobe for example for as low as 3-4,000 coins. Now that’s insane in resale value, but also great help for your team.

6. Auto-play (how to do it)
Playing the season games might be a chore for you, but you might still want to get that money from playing the games without actually playing them. That’s when auto-play comes into… play! You can simply tap the play button in the upper right corner of the screen and the AI will take care of your team. Just let the game unfold, mind your own business and enjoy winning your games. There are people who only use the autoplay feature in defense and switch to controlling their team in offense mode – if that’s what you want to do, simply tap the play button again and you’ll regain control of your team.

7. Complete the sets
I know I told you to stay away from the sets for a while and I still mean it, but eventually you will have to just complete the sets and enjoy the goodies they have to offer. You can get really good players from most sets, then sell them on the market for a high value and buy the players that you need. The easiest sets to complete in my opinion are the team sets – go for teams with good potential players (like Hawks or Heat) and complete them over and over again. Either use those players or sell them to get coins and buy better players. Sets are actually a wonder once you get the hang of them.

 

8. Learn to defend properly
Auto play is good, but not as good as playing the game for yourself. And even though offense it’s pretty straightforward and most players don’t really have problems with it, it’s defense that you should master in order to improve your chances of winning games. There are some defensive tricks that will help you get better than the others.
For example, when defending with the Guard button pressed, always move the joystick away from the opponent. When he’s in front of you and not performing a move, simply tap the guard button and you’ll attempt a steal. Finally, if the ball is being passed towards your player, simply tap the button in order to try and deflect it. Tapping the block button when near the post has your players try go for the rebound, so have that in mind as well.

9. Know your players!
Until you fill your team with superstar players that are good at everything, you will have lesser known players to deal with and you might not know their strengths and weaknesses. If you have a good SG, it doesn’t mean that he’s a good 3 point shooter, so always know the type of players you have in your starting line-up and what their strengths are (or at least if they’re good shooters or not) if you want to improve your winning chances.

Playing through the seasons
Each time you play a game while going through the season you earn some coins, and a small amount XP for each quarter that you complete. You can also get bonus season rewards pack for using one of the required lineups for that game. Make sure you have a strong line up when you go after these game modes.

Auto play
A handy feature is auto play, this can be found in the form of the play button next to the scoreboard. Auto play does a decent job of controlling your players and can be useful to grind through the season with a decent win rate.

I do recommend taking over by the 4th quarter if the games are really close and you need the win for achievements. You can get in about 5 or so auto played games in before running out of stamina.

Live Events, Head to Head

The daily drill and daily grind live events are quick small challenges you can complete that reward you with easy first win xp, coin and occasionally a card pack. Some of these are repeatable and you can farm them for card packs, and some have changeable difficulty levels for more rewards as you beat each difficulty level.

Head to Head will put you against other players teams, the winner being decided by whomever puts up the most points against the others defensive team. Start up as many head to head games

Sets

Sets are player cards, trophy cards or other cards like Big Moments that you can combine into a set of cards that will be sacrificed to get a better card in turn.

Either sacrificing player cards to turn them into trophy cards, or turning player or trophy cards, into higher value players. This is what you will want to do with left over cards that you either can’t auction off or don’t feel like auctioning.
Auctions

There are a few ways to collect different player cards with in the game but relying on the random loot rewards can be really frustrating. The auction house will be your best friend when it comes to building an all star line up.

This is where you will be using your coins. Tap on the search button and set the overall average to your liking and desired position. If a player is better compared to the current player in that position, they will have a green number, if they aren’t they will have a red number for their stats.

You can choose to either bid or buy out an auction in progress. Starting out you won’t have a lot of coin, so you want to look for low 1k starting prices with no bids. Current Bid: — means there is no bid.

Bid amounts update as bids come in with a slight delay to the “bid x” amount button to adjust to the recent bid. So If there is a player you really want wait until the last second, with a preset bid amount to try and win the auction before other buys can react to the bid. This can help you secure higher overall average players and make your game infinitely more enjoyable.

Alternatively you can play the Auction house section purely as a way to make money! The best method of doing this is to watch the market of valuable player trades, trophy’s for collections, buy low, and then resell at a higher mark up.

You’ll want to look for Silver or Gold tier players around the average range of 70 overall skill. This is a nice way to make coins in general or as something to do while you wait on your energy to refill.

Moves
Here are a few moves that the tutorial doesn’t teach you that just may come in handy.

• Pump fake: Tap the shoot button
• Spin: Double tap the Drive button to attempt to spin around a defenders guard.
• Steals: Tap the Guard button to attempt to steal the ball (mostly spammable without fouling)
• Hesitation: stay stationary and tap the “Drive” button once
• Fade Away: Move towards the baseline and tap “Shoot” to perform a fade away

General Tips and Tricks

• Play the auction house
• Abuse the steal move. You rarely get fouled for spamming it unless you’re double teaming.
• Save ingame currency for pro packs or priority auction trades.
